The Best Hotel Chain in Japan

During my trip to Japan I had the incredible opportunity to partner with Vessel Hotels and review a variety of their hotels across the country. I wanted to make this blog post because I am planning on going back to Japan soon and I am definitely going to try and stay at Vessel Hotels again after my previous incredible experience. Here are four of the Vessel Hotels I stayed at across Japan and what my thoughts were at each one.

Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo

Vessel Hotel Campana Nagoya - Nagoya

Nagoya is a city I only stayed in for one day because I was in transit to Kyoto. I was very curious to visit this city though because from what I read online, despite being the fourth largest city in Japan, it is considered Japan's most "boring" city. To see my verdict on whether or not this is true you can checkout my YouTube video here, but regardless, the hotel stay was lovely. One thing that was really shocking across the Vessel Hotels I stayed at, especially the one in Nagoya, was how extensive the free toiletries are. There was even things like makeup remover and hair ties which you don't see very often at hotels and is a true testament to the tremendous service that Vessel Hotels offer.

Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo - Kyoto

In Kyoto I had a phenomenal experience both with the hotel and with the city. Kyoto is known for being one of the most "traditional" Japanese cities and as such a popular activity to do when visiting is to rent a kimono so that you can experience traditional Japanese culture and take pictures with the incredible architecture in Kyoto. Vessel Hotel Campana Kyoto Gojo made this very convenient because they are partnered with a kimono rental service that is a short walk away called Yume Yukata Rental Service. This made the process really easy with them giving detailed instructions on how to get to and what to expect at the service and the hotel then providing a drop-off service when you are done. Additionally, as with all Vessel hotels, the breakfast, location, and service were all amazing.

Vessel Inn Fukuyama Ekikitaguchi - Fukuyama

I don't have a whole lot to say about my stay in Fukuyama because this was pretty much just a one night stay while I was in transit to Matsuyama. I had the opportunity to explore the city for one day though and it was really cute. I also got to meet up with my friend that helped organize my entire trip and stays with Vessel Hotels which was so much fun and she took me to this spectacular seafood restaurant that I will have to find the name of becuase at the price point it was truly an incredible experience. The review I made for TikTok mostly just highlights what an "average" room looks like at Vessel Hotels which is really impressive honestly because the room and hotel experience were lovely but it was probably the most unremarkable Vessel Hotel I stayed at, if you can believe that.

REF Matsuyama City Station - Matsuyama

Matsuyama was easily the most underrated city I visited in Japan. The people are friendly, the food is great, and the city is absolutely beautiful. This city is also famous for their oranges and the different types of orange juice, of which there are dozens of varieties, are truly spectacular.

In this city I stayed at REF Matsuyama City Station and got to stay in a beautiful room with a spectacular view. The breakfast buffet was also probably the best hotel breakfast I had in Japan. All of the food was so tasty and some impressive standouts were the fresh sashimi and the regional varieties of orange juice. The breakfast was also a bit different everyday which is really nice if you plan on staying for an extended period of time.

The Best Hotel Chain in Japan

Overall, I had a tremendous experience with Vessel Hotels in Japan, as well as the other hotels I visited! All of the hotels I reviewed on my TikTok are ones I would highly recommend (you can find them all in my hotel reviews playlist) and I will say I think that they are well worth the price point. All of my stays for hotels I review are either reduced price or free though, so I am not sure what the exact prices would have been per night but in September I think they were generally around $80-$200 CAD per night depending on the city. This is an absolute steal for what you are getting and I will say I also stayed at a hotel in Japan that was ~$50 CAD per night and it was honestly really bad in comparison... so if you have a little extra money to spend I can't recommend Vessel Hotels more!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I hope it helps for anyone trying to plan a trip to Japan! If you enjoyed this blog post make sure to checkout my other posts along with my social media channels for more foodie content!

Hi There!
I'm Deeva and Food

I’m a 21 year old (soon to be) law student & travel/food blogger based in Canada but I’m originally from Pakistan.

I immigrated to Canada when I was 12 years old and was quickly intrigued by all of the different cuisines that were available for me to try.

The diversity in Canada was fascinating to me as I had never been exposed to so many cuisines all in one place.

I started posting on social media to share my love for food and travel with the rest of the world.

My goal is to experience every culture through my travel and food blogs/vlogs whilst sharing my journey with those of you that have similar interests!
