Walnut Cinnamon Sugar Banana Bread

I absolutely love banana bread. Banana bread is one of my favorite things in the world. I made this recipe for my friends and they told me it was one of their favorite things I've made so i knew I had to film/share the recipe with you guys. I feel like it is the perfect snack or even light meal when you are feeling hungry and want something quick and easy. I have made many different variations of banana bread but today I am making a walnut cinnamon sugar banana bread because I bought a huge bag of walnuts from Costco! The cinnamon sugar and walnuts also gives the banana bread a nice crunch and adds so much to the overall texture and flavor. If you enjoy nuttiness and the warm flavor of cinnamon and brown sugar, I can assure you that you are going to LOVE this. Follow along with me in the video below or read the steps below!


Ingredients


  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 1 egg

  • teaspoon of baking soda

  • 100 grams of sugar

  • tablespoon of cinnamon

  • teaspoon of nutmeg

  • pinch of salt

  • 100 grams of crushed walnuts

  • teaspoon of vanilla

  • teaspoon of instant coffee

  • splash of milk

  • 200 grams of flour  


  • Optional (but recommended):

    • one ripe banana on the top

    • extra walnuts

    • cinnamon sugar mixture


How to Make Walnut Cinnamon Sugar Banana Bread


  1. Take 3 ripe bananas and smash them in a bowl

  2. Once the bananas are smashed, crack in an egg

  3. Mix in 100ml of butter or oil

  4. Add in a teaspoon of vanilla essence

  5. Mix in one cup of sugar (I personally recommend brown sugar)

  6. Add a teaspoon of baking soda, a tablespoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt

  7. Mix in 100g of roughly crushed walnuts

  8. In a separate bowl, mix half a tablespoon of instant coffee with some milk until fully mixed

  9. Add coffee-milk mixture to your wet ingredients

  10. Combine 200g of flour with wet ingredients

  11. Transfer batter to a greased pan

  12. OPTIONAL - prior to putting the batter in the oven, top with:

    1. Extra walnuts

    2. A halved ripe banana

    3. A cinnamon sugar mixture consisting of 1/3 cup of brown sugar and 1 table spoon of cinnamon (add as much as you would like)

  13. Place in oven at 350°F for 40-50 minutes (or until baked, check with bamboo stick test)

  14. Remove from the oven and enjoy your delicious walnut cinnamon sugar banana bread!
